Peace Clubs Canada

DECLARATION OF TRUST
outlining how trustees will manage the charity's income.
Peace Clubs Canada is a non-registered, not-for-profit charity in Canada.
Its larger mission is to support Peace Clubs in Africa in their teaching of practical strategies of non-violent conflict transformation in schools, prisons, refugee camps and churches and other religious institutions.
The current financial focus of our mission in Canada is to support the education costs of a Zambian student, Faraja Sadi, studying Peace and Conflict Studies at Conrad Grebel University, University of Waterloo (DLI#O19305471522).
Peace Clubs Canada has no endowments or property. It receives support through gifts-in-kind, funds through GoFundMe campaigns and other fund-raising projects and through solicited gifts from interested donors and transfers from the student’s family in Zambia.
Because Peace Clubs Canada is a single-recipient charity we do not qualify as a CRA-recognized charity and thus cannot issue tax-deductible receipts. Donors receive a personal acknowledgement of appreciation from the charity.
Peace Clubs Canada applies 100% of all donations received to expenditures directly related to tuition and related educational costs for the funded student.
A Board of typically five volunteer directors meets regularly to manage the affairs of the charity and to ensure fiscal accountability. New directors are approved and appointed at the discretion of the current directors.
A business account is maintained at a Canadian Bank. At least two unrelated directors or associates have signing privileges, and two signatures are required for withdrawal or payments.
If funds were to be donated beyond the level of anticipated costs for the next two years, Peace Clubs Canada would contact the donor to discuss options including redirecting the donation to scholarships, other Peace Clubs initiatives, or the return of the donation.
A current financial balance sheet is maintained to ensure financial transparency.
